This article studies the main problems existing in the traditional spinning process of linen.

Starting from several key aspects such as raw material selection, yarn structure, spinning process, and the drafting mechanism of the spinning machine, a thorough and detailed analysis and improvement of the traditional spinning process have been carried out. The impact of raw material indicators on yarn indicators has been analyzed, We have designed a new structure yarn and studied its production process. Based on production practice, we have innovated and conceptually designed the drafting mechanism of the spinning machine to better meet the needs of flax wet spinning.Weaving equipment and process of linen:

1.Fabric classification: pure linen fabric, interwoven fabric, and blended fabric;Weaving process: winding, warping, sizing, reeding;

  1. Equipment used: Pure linen fabric weaving equipment includes rapier looms and shuttle looms (yarn count range from 4.5s to 21s);
  2. Weaving of interwoven fabrics: In most cases, the warp yarn is pure cotton or other yarn, and the weft yarn is linen yarn;
  3. Blended fabric weaving: can be done on an air jet machine (with a yarn count range of 21 or more and a hemp content of less than 30%);

Sizing of 6 pure linen varieties: Low count and low density varieties are not sized.The elongation of linen varies greatly depending on the variety and equipment, with larger varieties having an elongation of 11-12% and smaller varieties having 3-5% points. The elongation of the small rapier is about 3 points greater than that of the large rapier.
